Six Questions with Victorian Account Manager, Carrie Murrihy.
Where did you grow Up?
I’m a country girl – I grew up outside of Warrnambool in South West Victoria.
What was your first job?
Being from the country I started working at a young age, so I’m a jack of all trades! I have worked in the family antique business, poured pots at the local, and worked in events.
How did you get into Advertising?
In my previous role at The Icebox (London based ice sculpture company) we worked with many of the top advertising and marketing agencies in the UK, and I always thought ‘Ooh, it would be nice to work in an office like this, rather than in a freezing cold industrial unit’! So when I returned to Melbourne, I found Metropolis!
What is your favourite part about your job at Metropolis?
The people of course! It’s really nice to be part of a company with great values, and an approachable, down-to-earth team. Although ‘Team Vic’ is small, Chloe, Josh & I always find the fun it in!
What is your favourite Advertising campaign?
At The Icebox we created a life size replica of a Volkswagen Mini made entirely from ice, and ‘parked’ it on a busy London street. The photograph was used in an extensive print and outdoor advertising campaign throughout the UK, with the strapline ‘Air conditioning as standard’. Although not planned as a PR stunt, the ice car attracted massive global press coverage.
If you could choose 3 celebrities to have dinner with (past and present), who would you choose and why?
1) Stephen Fry for an interesting conversation
2) Chris Rock to keep us laughing all night
3) George Clooney – do I really need to give a reason?
